  • Happy Trails Horse Rescue in Tumalo received a grant from The Team Depot Foundation and Home Depot Bend to repaint its barn red on Saturday, creating a safer space for rescued horses, volunteers and visitors. Volunteers helped with the project, and the public may view the updated barn — Open Barn Day is set for October 11 from 12 to 2 p.m.  Central Oregon Daily
  • On Saturday, 65 people joined RCAPP’s Community Paint Day to refresh the Graffiti Tunnel along Dry Canyon Trail near American Legion Park in Redmond—RCAPP has held these events since 2021 to promote public art and reduce graffiti.  Central Oregon Daily

  • A new plan for 128 income-restricted homes on land meant for shops near Caldera High School has upset some neighbors in Easton who expected more local services. City officials said state law forces the change—so they are now considering code tweaks to help bring more local businesses to the area.  Bend Bulletin

  • Bend High beat Springfield 34-28 in overtime Saturday, September 13—coming back from early errors and tight plays—to secure a win on Heroes Night while honoring veterans and former coaches; the team will play Caldera next Friday.  Bend Bulletin
