The Bend Pet Parade will start 30 minutes early on July 4 with a 9:30 a.m. beginning and an 8:30 a.m. lineup at Harmon Park where the route follows Newport Avenue to Drake Park — organizers say the change helps protect people and pets from the mid-day sun.
Bend offers nine off-leash dog parks that give residents many choices for letting their dogs play freely—parks include amenities like an agility course at Alpenglow Community Park and river access at Riverbend Park—and each option provides space suited to different needs.
