COMMUNITY NEWS

- ➤ Oregon youth ages 1 to 18 can access free summer meals at nearly 700 sites — offered at schools, libraries, parks and community centers — as part of the Summer Food Service Program. Some sites already serve breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks while others will begin serving meals later this month. Central Oregon Daily
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Team Rubicon—a group of military veterans and first responders—has deployed nearly 40 volunteers to the Wagon Trail Ranch community in La Pine to thin trees, clear brush and remove fire fuels over a 10-day period, with the project running through today. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Bend's Northeast Second Street between Franklin and Greenwood avenues opens to two-way traffic today—part of a Core Area upgrade supported by the City and the Bend Urban Renewal Agency. REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ A monthly housing report said that in May Bend’s market moved closer to balance with nearly six months of inventory as the median price fell to $772,000 and homes sold in about 22 days — a sign that the market is cooling after many years favoring sellers.
