  • Ruffwear, the Bend dog outfitter, named interim president Will Blount after Brandan Hill's resignation on April 29—Blount brings 20 years of leadership experience and will help the company as it searches for a permanent president.  Bend Bulletin

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Senator Anthony Broadman and Representative Emerson Levy visited Central Oregon on Friday with officials from Bend and Redmond to review safety concerns on routes including the Murphy Road and Highway 97 intersection and parts of Knott Road — the growing housing demand has made such issues urgent. They noted that a major state transportation package is under consideration and could provide future funding for highway improvements like added medians.  KTVZ

SPORTS NEWS

  • Bend High ended a four-game losing streak with a 4-1 win over Summit on Friday as the team returned to basics by being on time, wearing proper uniforms, and using the right gear—senior shortstop Will Goodman drove in the winning runs in the seventh inning while junior pitcher Cole Cooper threw a complete game.  Bend Bulletin
  • Bend High swimmer Hadley Hayes has overcome family hardships and athletic setbacks, becoming a state champion before facing a sudden change when Cal Poly canceled its swim program on March 7. In a twist, she will soon graduate and join the University of Wyoming on a full-ride scholarship—turning past lows into promising highs.  Bend Bulletin
