Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Rick Atkinson will speak at The Tower Theatre in Bend on May 13 at 7 p.m. as part of the America 250 event hosted by the Deschutes Historical Museum; tickets start at $30 (teachers can request a free ticket via email).
PacifiCorp asked state regulators to let an interim rate increase take effect on June 4 to address financial stress from wildfire liabilities and rising insurance costs.
Residential bills are set to net a 1.9% rise starting next July, and the interim charge will be refunded if later deemed unjustified.
