- ➤ PacifiCorp asked state regulators to let an interim rate increase take effect on June 4 to address financial stress from wildfire liabilities and rising insurance costs. Residential bills are set to net a 1.9% rise starting next July, and the interim charge will be refunded if later deemed unjustified. The Oregonian

- ➤ Bend Park and Recreation District is expanding forest-thinning and fuels-reduction work across thousands of acres in and around the city to lower wildfire-risk near neighborhoods. It is also co-sponsoring a wildfire preparedness fair at Central Oregon Community College Saturday. Bend Bulletin
