Permission to Disappoint Releasing the Need for Approval and Reclaiming Your Integrity A Two-Part Workshop Series

Nov. 6th & Nov. 13th

Why does disappointing someone else so often feel like we've done something wrong? Many of us have learned to equate love with accommodation, kindness with self-sacrifice, and belonging with keeping others happy. In this two-part series, we'll explore the fears and beliefs that make other people's disappointment so uncomfortable, the cost of sacrificing our own needs to preserve harmony, and how to remain compassionate and connected without abandoning ourselves.

Part One: Our Fear of Letting People Down Why do we feel guilty, anxious, or selfish when we make choices that disappoint others—even when those choices are right for us? In this session, we'll uncover the beliefs and protective patterns behind our need for approval, explore how guilt and fear of rejection influence our behavior, and examine what happens when keeping others comfortable becomes more important than honoring our own needs and values. Because caring about others shouldn't require abandoning ourselves.

Part Two: The Freedom to Let Them Feel What if someone else's disappointment wasn't something you needed to fix? Even when we recognize our people-pleasing patterns, allowing others to feel frustrated, hurt, or unhappy with our choices can be deeply uncomfortable. In this session, we'll explore the difference between compassion and responsibility, learn to tolerate the discomfort of other people's reactions, and discover how to remain grounded when our choices don't meet their expectations. We'll examine how to communicate with honesty and kindness, recognize when accountability is appropriate, and release the need to manage emotions that aren't ours to control. Because we can care deeply about how others feel without making their happiness our responsibility.
