About this event

Hi everyone, I have had a few requests to hold a basic demo regarding bike maintenance and savvy upkeep tips & pointers. Topics covered in the demo will be tires, drivetrain, fitment, cleaning, tools and other pointers I have gleaned over the many years of my two-wheel habit. This demo will be demonstrated on my FS Mtn Bike, but the principles & tools carry over to other types of bikes. Rita has done a similar demo in the summer but that was just for the ladies, this one is open to all.

100% Optional: After this demo I intend to do a short ride on part of our mixed surface route that several of us did a few weeks back. If you are interested to partake in that action please read the below, otherwise hope to see you there!

Please make sure you're experienced, fit, and confident enough to ride this distance on rolling dirt trails, gravel roads, and mild-ish singletrack, and that your bike is FULLY functional, reliable (drivetrain, brakes, pumped up tires, proper saddle, etc), and has proper knobby tires for these off road surfaces. A proper mountain bike, cyclocross bike, or gravel bike are the ONLY options for this ride, (NO road bikes, hybrids, fitness bikes, or Walmart bikes please. DM me if you have any questions about this). Class 1 electric MTB's are ok. Please have sufficient water (I recommend 2 large bottles or a Camelback), spare tube, or kit, and snacks too. And of course, helmets are mandatory.
