- ➤ On Saturday, Dec. 6, hundreds filled downtown Bend to watch a holiday parade featuring 90+ groups from schools, news stations and fan clubs. The festive event brought long-time locals together to celebrate decades of community tradition. KTVZ
- ➤ Bend kicked off the holidays with two family fun runs as Cascade Relays held the three-mile Mistletoe Miler along the Deschutes River Trail at Bend Brewing Company and the Reindeer Rush for kids down Brooks Alley before the Christmas Parade. Central Oregon Daily
- ➤ Bend’s Walmart hosted the 25th annual Shop with a Cop event on Saturday, Dec. 6, where officers from the Bend Police Department and Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office helped 92 children shop for holiday gifts and provided lunch and extra support for kids in need. Bend Bulletin

- ➤ The West Coast Health Alliance recommended that newborns keep receiving the hepatitis B vaccine at birth, rejecting federal guidance by RFK Jr. Gov. Tina Kotek said the decision is based on facts — expert consensus from data. The Oregonian
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ Planners for a 261-acre neighborhood on Bend’s southeast edge submitted plans that include wildfire risk reduction measures such as a 100-foot firebreak and fire-resistant materials for roughly 2,500 new homes plus a 23-acre park and commercial center.
