- ➤ A list of Bend events from November 27 to December 3 will offer diverse activities including art walks, holiday theater like The Nutcracker at Tower Theatre, sports events, comedy shows and family workshops with details on times, fees and special discounts—helping residents plan their week. - ➤ Service providers in Central Oregon say they are teaming up to help the homeless as donations drop and needs rise—Bend Church, Bethlehem Inn, and other groups are asking for food, clothes, and financial support to run shelters and community programs. - ➤ Three funk bands are set to bring their modern sound to Bend this December. New Jersey’s Flamingosis will perform at Volcanic Theatre Pub on Dec 7 at 8 p.m.—British/American Young Gun Silver Fox will play at Domino Room on Dec 7 at 8 p.m., and Montana’s Desperate Electric is scheduled for Silver Moon Brewing on Dec 10 at 7:30 p.m. Bend Bulletin
- ➤ Live music events will take place in Bend from November 27-Dec. 3—set at venues like Wildwood, Silver Moon Brewing, and River’s Place. The schedule includes free and ticketed shows featuring jazz, rock, indie pop, and country-rock performances by local and touring artists. Bend Bulletin

- ➤ Starting tomorrow until December 3, several holiday markets and fairs will take place in the area as local groups showcase seasonal shopping with events like a holiday faire in Sisters, a heated tent market at a local vineyard in Terrebonne, and pop-up celebrations in Bend at a plant shop and a golf course—some offering free admission. - ➤ Cascade Theatrical Co.’s 'Ebenezer Scrooge’s Big Bend Christmas Show' will open Friday at Cascades Theatre at 148 NW Greenwood Ave in Bend— the production reimagines Dickens’ classic by relocating Scrooge to Bend after a failed love affair and adding local humor with familiar city references; performances will continue through Dec. 21. - ➤ Sky View Middle School language arts teacher Loren Renfroe was named educator of the year Friday at the Bend-La Pine Schools’ awards ceremony — district leaders and MidOregon Credit Union recognized her achievements with a $500 check. She has taught at the school for two years and also leads the leadership class while serving on the language arts team. Bend Bulletin

- ➤ U.S. senators Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley wrote a letter on Monday asking Senate leaders to add emergency funding for wildfire recovery on federal lands and parks after fires burned more than a million acres this summer. They said the aid should cover repairing trails, removing hazard trees, and replacing burned structures in areas like the Columbia River Gorge. Bend Bulletin

- ➤ A new virtual reality treadmill at St. Charles helps patients relearn walking (using immersive visuals and real-time motion tracking). It was donated by a Bend couple (boosting patient rehabilitation). Central Oregon Daily
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Otto Haar, a Summit High School grad and University of Oregon junior, won $100,000 after nailing a field goal on ESPN's College GameDay in Eugene last weekend and split the prize with his seven friends who had camped out overnight—his share was set to help pay for student loans, housing and celebratory drinks. - ➤ In the fall high school sports season, Bend High girls soccer finished an undefeated run with a 1-0 win in the 5A state championship on Nov.15 while Summit girls cross country reclaimed the team title on Nov.8 and Caldera junior Maddie Carney became Central Oregon’s first individual champion since 2019—Bend High volleyball also earned its fourth straight IMC title.
