- ➤ State officials say Oregon is not fully prepared for a major quake and tsunami that will cut off evacuation routes+ they warn that gaps in planning could make it hard for coastal and inland communities to support evacuees. KTVZ
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Today, Summit plays Churchill at 7 p.m. in Salem and Mountain View faces Silverton at 7 p.m. at Willamette High in Eugene in the Class 5A football semifinals — both teams advanced after tough quarterfinal wins. - ➤ Mountain bikers in central Oregon have many dry dirt trail options this late fall and winter even though Horse Butte and Bessie Butte trailheads are closed until next May due to a large forest restoration project—options include challenging climbs at Horse Ridge, flat loops at Maston, technical rides at Cascade View and Radlands, as well as thrilling routes near Smith Rock and Madras East Hills.
