- ➤ Central Oregon Veterans Outreach invites the community to downtown Bend for the 24th Annual Veterans Day Parade today at 11 a.m.—the parade honors local veterans with the theme 'Service to Nation and Community' and is led by Grand Marshal Robert Landers. - ➤ Iconic Dance in Bend offers an adaptive hip hop class every Tuesday night that welcomes dancers of all abilities to move and have fun. Co-owner Walt Sullins said the class builds confidence and brings families together—supporting a culture of inclusion in the community. Central Oregon Daily
- ➤ A 19-foot model submarine made from a piece of a C-130 aircraft will appear on a float at the Redmond Veterans Day Parade today at 11:00 a.m. The Submarine Veterans Base of Central Oregon built the model to accurately copy a Sturgeon-class fast attack submarine from the Cold War and it will be seen along 6th Street downtown. - ➤ Live Nation announced that Bonnie Raitt, Matt Rife and Train will perform at Hayden Homes Amphitheater in 2026—Bonnie Raitt on June 8, Rife on Aug. 27, and Train on Aug. 28 with special guests. Ticket presales begin this week with general sales starting on Nov. 14. Central Oregon Daily

- ➤ Bend businessman Lance Brant donated $50,000 through the OSU Foundation to support Oregon State University-Cascades’ new accountancy program—created to meet the growing need for skilled accountants across the state. Brant, founder of Capstone Accounting and Tax, expects to hire up to 40 new accountants over the next five years—boosting local job opportunities. Bend Bulletin
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality issued an air quality advisory on Monday for Deschutes and northern Klamath counties because stagnant air is trapping smoke and pollutants near the ground—local agencies may enforce wood burning restrictions and advise vulnerable residents to limit outdoor activity. The advisory will last until Wednesday afternoon. KTVZ

- ➤ Deschutes County Health Services unveiled a wall today to honor 18 veteran employees who served in nearly every military branch (excluding the newly formed Space Force) during an event attended by almost 30 staff members, showing the department’s close-knit ties and respect for military service.
