  • A group of Central Oregon veterans led by former submariner Anne Graham built a 19-foot replica submarine using parts from a C-130 fuel tank and 3D-printed pieces; the model will debut at the Redmond Veterans Day parade on Tuesday—designed as a memorial to honor submarine service and boost membership efforts.  Bend Bulletin
  • Motorcyclists of Central Oregon started their annual Toyz for Kidz toy drive at General Duffy’s in Redmond on Saturday, collecting toys and donations to help families in need; organizers said the event will take place again next year on Nov. 14, 2026.  Central Oregon Daily
  • Shepherd’s House Ministries held its Annual Winter Cold Weather Drive on Saturday — residents donated new and gently used coats, hats, gloves, blankets, sleeping bags and socks at drop-off sites in Bend and Redmond. The drive aimed to provide warmth to people facing homelessness during the cold winter and saw over 55 hoodies, 100 gloves and 70 blankets donated.  Central Oregon Daily

SPORTS NEWS

  • Maddie Carney of Caldera won the Class 5A girls cross country state championship at Lane Community College on November 8—she improved from past finishes by placing eighth as a freshman and third last fall before outpacing Crescent Valley’s Emily Wisniewski, who had won the title twice. Her victory marks a breakthrough in her competitive career.  The Oregonian
