- ➤ Bend residents toured Jackstraw, a 313-unit mixed-use apartment complex with shops, gardens, a rooftop lounge and two affordable units, during a free Fall Fest near the Box Factory on Saturday—featuring live music, pumpkins, face painting and guided tours of apartments from studios to three bedrooms. - ➤ Nearly four years after his death, dozens gathered in downtown Bend to honor Barry Washington Jr. with the unveiling of a bronze memorial at the corner where he lost his life in 2021—community donations fully funded the plaque approved under the city’s memorial program. KTVZ

- ➤ Snowshoe Leather Care, a 97-year-old leather conditioner business, was revived in Bend by CEO Tiffany Huey who uses classic beeswax and pine resin to keep leather products in top shape. She moved the business two years ago and expanded sales to local stores—meeting the needs of Bend’s horse owners and leather users as the climate shifts. Bend Bulletin
- ➤ Elmer’s restaurant is set to open on November 24 and will take over the building that once housed Shari’s—its freshly painted exterior now shows blue trim and job banners along with neon signs sparking local interest. The family-style eatery will offer hearty breakfasts in a welcoming space as anticipation builds in Bend. KTVZ

- ➤ On Oct. 25, backup quarterback Brock Thomas replaced starting quarterback Dante Moore in the second half against Wisconsin and helped lead the Ducks to a 21-7 win by completing all four passes for 46 yards and scoring a touchdown drive.
