- ➤ Wild Ride Brewing donated $15,000 Tuesday to a memorial scholarship honoring Jake and Josh Eckstein—killed in a 2019 crash—whose parents started the fund to help local high school seniors attend trade school. - ➤ A Bend native police officer (Lauren Craven, 25) died Monday night near San Diego when her patrol car stopped to help at a multi-vehicle collision and was struck by another vehicle; authorities are investigating the chain-reaction crash while urging drivers to slow down and move over. KTVZ

- ➤ The Coyote opened early this month on NW Harriman St. in the old Unofficial Logging Co. building and now serves creative cocktails, mocktails, poke bowls, and other bar fare; the new country bar features a mechanical bull and a dance floor — the owners plan to add an outdoor patio, deck, and fire pits for warmer weather. - ➤ Reverie State is a nostalgic scent brand opening its first retail space inside Pac Nor Westy at the Box Factory in Bend—where visitors can explore small-batch candles, incense, and room sprays paired with curated playlists. - ➤ AAA reported Tuesday that the national average for regular gas fell three cents to $3.05 per gallon—while Oregon's average nears a dip below $4 and Bend's has dropped to $3.83 amid lower crude oil prices and reduced demand. KTVZ

- ➤ Entrepreneur Eboné Bell will deliver a talk on leadership and inclusion at OSU-Cascades on Nov. 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in the Charles McGrath Family atrium—registration is required for the free event. Bend Bulletin
- ➤ Heart of Oregon Corps launched a funding sprint on Tuesday to raise the final $1.67 million needed for Central Oregon's first Youth Workforce Development Campus in Redmond. The nonprofit will spend over 400 hours on phone banks and community emails until December 31 to reach a $7.3 million goal that will let them open the campus without debt in fall 2026 — a critical step toward offering local youth valuable job training. - ➤ Wild Ride Brewing in Prineville donated $5,000 and its Redmond branch added $10,000 this week to the Eckstein Scholarship Fund that supports Central Oregon high school graduates pursuing skilled trades. The scholarship fund—created by the Eckstein family in memory of Jake and Josh—has awarded nine scholarships to students in Deschutes, Crook, and Jefferson counties. KTVZ

- ➤ Governor Kotek warned that if the shutdown continues, over 750,000 Oregonians on SNAP will not receive new benefits in November, leaving many families without essential food support. - ➤ A new report from the Oregon Health Authority shows that 23% of Oregon 8th and 11th graders have unmet physical or mental health needs, with many students feeling dismissed by adults—leading to more isolation.
