  • Bend's Costco is relocating to a new venue 5 miles up U.S. Highway 97, featuring a gas station and car wash, opening at 8 a.m. Saturday.  Bend Bulletin
  • Deputies in Deschutes County recovered a large quantity of stolen mail, including unopened ballots, advising residents to monitor their mail closely during the holiday season.  KBND
  • Smith Rock State Park in Oregon will begin improvements including a new welcome center and better parking by late 2025 or early 2026, with an information session scheduled for next Tuesday.  KTVZ

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Over 5,500 Pacific Power customers in downtown Bend experienced a power outage due to a squirrel disrupting a substation, with service restored in under two hours.  KTVZ
  • A late-night fire in southwest Bend destroyed a garage and some vehicles, prompted evacuations and alerts in the neighborhood, but the adjacent home was spared serious damage.  KTVZ
