- ➤ Almost a month after the Flat Fire near Sisters destroyed five homes and forced thousands to evacuate, AT&T of Oregon donated $25,000 to support first responders and disaster recovery programs—$15,000 went to the Sisters-Camp Sherman Fire District and $10,000 to the American Red Cross Cascades Region. The funds will cover home risk assessments and emergency shelter operations. Central Oregon Daily

- ➤ Two popular restaurants on Galveston Avenue are changing names and menus as part of a plan to boost the local food scene — Runaround Sue will replace El Sancho following its October closure and winter remodel while Dump City Dumplings becomes The Roundabout Pub on September 26. Developers plan to add five new eateries and the city will upgrade roads with new sidewalks and lighting next spring. Central Oregon Daily

- ➤ Longtime punk-blues duo Hillstomp will perform their final show at The Belfry in Sisters at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct.4 as they mark the end of a 25-year run. Bend Bulletin
- ➤ High Desert Museum in Bend will open the 'Joe Feddersen: Earth, Water, Sky' exhibition Saturday and run it until Jan. 18; the show displays over 100 works in ceramics, basketry, glass, and printmaking that span the artist’s 40-year career + admission is free. Bend Bulletin

- ➤ The Bend-La Pine Education Center, formerly Bend Union High School built in 1925, turned 100 on Sept. 7 and now houses district administrative offices. It will host an open house on Sept. 27 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. — featuring historical displays and school performances with food by Bend High culinary program. Bend Bulletin

- ➤ Bend Municipal Airport is receiving nearly $4 million in FAA funds to rebuild its runway and install new taxiway lighting to boost safety—officials said the project will also extend the life of its two parallel taxiways. Central Oregon Daily
- ➤ Bend leaders chose a Broken Top truss design for the Hawthorne Overcrossing pedestrian bridge over Highway 97 to cut costs—saving an estimated $3-$5 million—and to reduce long closures on the Parkway thanks to off-site prefabrication and quicker installation. The change came after the Oregon Department of Transportation revealed that the previous design would add unexpected expenses for traffic control. Central Oregon Daily
- ➤ State health officials turned over sensitive Medicaid data to CMS under legal pressure to avoid a $50 million fine+the report from April through June on emergency services excluded names, addresses, and immigration details+ to protect privacy. The Oregonian
- ➤ Starting Oct. 2, Bend DMV will be appointment-only on Thursdays while still accepting drop-ins on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday—drivers are now limited to two knowledge tests in 24 hours to curb repeated attempts by chance. Central Oregon Daily

- ➤ Summit cross-country teams won at the Northwest Classic in Eugene yesterday and are preparing for the Nike Portland XC race on Friday at Blue Lake Regional Park near Gresham—where more than 100 high school teams from eight states will compete. - ➤ Central Oregon viewers will watch college and NFL football as FOX and NBC air games this weekend—college contests on Friday, Sept. 26 and Saturday, Sept. 27 and NFL matchups on Sunday, Sept. 28.
