  • Local veterans returned to Redmond after an Honor Flight trip to Washington, D.C. and were warmly greeted Saturday with cheers and honor quilts as community members led them from the airport to Ridgeview High School—recognizing their service.  Central Oregon Daily

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Bend housing growth has led Bend-La Pine Schools to start an 18-month planning process with FLO Analytics to forecast student enrollment and check if current sites will meet future needs—officials said a report due in about a year will help decide on new schools or boundary adjustments.  Bend Bulletin

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • On Saturday, about two dozen volunteers joined SOLVE’s first 'Pick It Up Bend!' cleanup in the Old Mill District to pick up litter and remove microtrash—helping protect local wildlife and beautify public spaces. SOLVE provided cleaning supplies and urged residents to continue keeping shared areas clean.  Central Oregon Daily
