Over 250 neighbors attended Crooked River Ranch Fire and Rescue's annual pancake breakfast fundraiser on Sunday to support local volunteer firefighters and raise money for equipment that was not in the department’s regular budget.
The team will hold additional celebrations in 2027 for its 50th anniversary.
📰 Economy
State economist Carl Riccadonna said Oregon’s job market remains low-hire, low-fire after significant semiconductor layoffs, + modest job postings and slower health care hiring raise concerns about future opportunities.
🌲 Environment
Firefighters continue working at Rowe Creek Complex with 99% containment 10 miles south of Fossil while completing extensive repair work.
Rain on Sunday may slow progress, but drier, warmer conditions are expected today+ Priest Hole and other recreation sites have reopened following eased restrictions.
🏛️ Government
Division Street in north Bend will see one southbound lane closed tomorrow for fish-screen replacement work by the North Unit Irrigation District, with both lanes scheduled to close in October until construction ends in April 2027.
