  • A neglected candle ignited a fire that destroyed a home's basement in Bend, Oregon, though smoke alarms enabled the owner and her dogs to evacuate safely.  KTVZ
  • A suspected drunk driver crashed into a building in northwest Bend, resulting in temporary closure of two new businesses, Bonta Gelato and Iris & Stout, though no injuries were reported.  KTVZ

CRIME NEWS

  • Deschutes County secured an $18,000 grant to fight retail theft via a new training program for retailers and law enforcement.  KTVZ
