- ➤ The Sisters Rodeo Association is accepting applications for its 2026 Rodeo Queen Contest for young women (aged 18–25) from across Oregon. Applicants must submit by September 4th and the contest will be held on September 7th at the rodeo grounds. KTVZ

- ➤ Yesterday, the Deschutes Historical Museum hosted its annual Antique Fair where Oregon vendors sold vintage items like jewelry, mid-century modern pieces and military collectibles—attendees also received family history help from the Bend Genealogical Society as admission was free. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today, the National Weather Service issued an Excessive Heat Warning for Central Oregon and parts of Washington with temperatures expected to reach 100 degrees from noon until 10 p.m. Tuesday — authorities advise residents to stay in air-conditioned spaces, drink plenty of water, and avoid direct sunlight. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Bend city leaders are planning a new City Hall to replace the cramped 35-year-old building and are studying a project that will cost at least $120 million—plans include using the Bend Central District to spark further development. The City Council will review updated cost analysis in November to shape the long-awaited project. Bend Bulletin
