- ➤ The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office is seeking help to locate 84-year-old Leon Lyle Haight of Salem who was last seen at Paulina Lake Campground on July 27th—he wandered from his family's campsite when they were away, and both his silver 2008 Honda Civic and a camp axe are missing. KTVZ
- ➤ Two small fires were set intentionally near Sawyer Park along the Deschutes River late Saturday, and firefighters extinguished them by 1:30 a.m.—police took one person into custody while no property was damaged. Central Oregon Daily

- ➤ Unemployment filings for extended benefits increased 17% from 2024 with weekly claims averaging 33,400—construction and manufacturing workers were among the most affected. Recent layoffs at Intel and Nike raised concerns that Oregon’s 4.9% jobless rate in June may climb further. The Oregonian
