- ➤ Bend earned national praise when CNN Travel placed it No. 4 on America's Best Towns to Visit—this ranking comes after hundreds of nominations and highlights Bend's outdoor fun, live music, and food scene along its scenic river. The Oregonian
- ➤ Bend's Lighthouse Navigation Center marked three years of helping people facing homelessness, serving nearly 500 individuals last year and moving 70 into other housing. The center will host an anniversary celebration on July 23 from 11:30 to 2:30 p.m. — featuring food, guest stories and highlights of community partnerships. Central Oregon Daily

- ➤ Two people remain missing after six were swept over a waterfall near Bend—police reported one died at Dillon Falls on the Deschutes River Saturday and three were rescued and taken to hospital. KBND
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Kawak Aviation Technologies, a Bend firm, provided its Cascade Fire Bucket to help fight the 95,000-acre Cram Fire—where nearly 900 personnel, 89 engines, 19 crews and 4 helicopters worked to control the blaze. Isabella Warren will report on the bucket at 5:00 p.m. on KTVZ News tonight. KTVZ
- ➤ Epic Aircraft received FAA type certification for its new high-performance single-engine turbine plane, the E1000 AX, and said deliveries begin this week at its Bend headquarters. The manufacturer completed a record sales quarter with all 2025 production positions filled—future orders for 2026 remain brisk. KTVZ

- ➤ On Monday, July 21, the Oregon State Marine Board said inner tubes, two-person tubes and pool toys do not need a permit under House Bill 2982 which will take effect in 2026. Local floaters along the Deschutes River from Riverbend Park to Drake Park can continue to use these devices without needing to buy a permit. Bend Bulletin
