- ➤ One person died, two remain missing & three were rescued after a group of six went over Dillon Falls on the Deschutes River near Bend Saturday afternoon, and search and rescue crews worked until sunset. Central Oregon Daily
- ➤ Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office and other agencies launched a search and rescue on Saturday afternoon after six people went over Dillon Falls on the Deschutes River west of Bend—three were rescued and taken to St. Charles-Bend, one was confirmed dead, and two remain missing while crews plan to resume efforts Sunday morning. - ➤ Jack Billowitz, a 16 year old from Bend High, finished 10th in the 17th High Cascades 100 mile mountain bike race on Saturday, July 19, completing the course in 7 hours, 10 minutes, 40 seconds as over 300 riders battled heat and dust through Deschutes National Forest — Mountain View grad Chloe Spritz won the women's race and was the only female racer in the top 20 overall.
