- ➤ Three people escaped with minor injuries after a small plane crashed and caught fire near Sisters Eagle Airport on Sunday morning—fire crews quickly contained the blaze and investigators continue to examine the cause. Central Oregon Daily
- ➤ A small Cessna crashed just after takeoff from Sisters Eagle Airport late Sunday morning with all three on board escaping serious injury — fire crews contained a brush fire sparked by the plane's blaze. KTVZ

- ➤ The Cram Fire burned 1,400 acres along Highway 97 north of Madras Sunday night—crews used engines, helicopters and air tankers while Level 2 evacuation orders were issued on private land. Central Oregon Daily

- ➤ Summit's centerfielder Slater de Brun was selected by the Baltimore Orioles with the 37th pick in the MLB draft on Sunday—he ended a strong season with a .370 average, 26 RBIs, 35 runs and 22 stolen bases while helping his team win the Class 5A state championship on July 7 at Roto Rooter Park.
