  • Car owners and auto enthusiasts gather twice a month at Dilly Dally Coffee for Cars and Coffee—a casual meet-up running from 8 to 10 a.m. The next meet-up will be held on Sunday, July 20th when drivers will bring a variety of vehicles and join in conversation.  Central Oregon Daily
  • Bend residents have raised concerns over repeated power outages caused by Pacific Power's enhanced safety settings put in place during fire season. They worry about staying cool and keeping essential devices running + food stored as temperatures are predicted to reach the 90s later this week.  KTVZ

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A young woman in her late teens nearly drowned on Saturday in Springfield when she got caught in a strainer while helping swamped boaters on the McKenzie River—firefighters rescued her by pushing her under a log and catching her on the other side, and no one, including a 13-year-old bystander, was injured.  The Oregonian
  • Fire crews responded to a vegetation fire that broke out Sunday afternoon near Redmond Airport—evacuating nearby camps while stopping the fire’s forward progress with a wet line—and are checking for spot fires as they mop up the Cave Fire.  KTVZ
