Bend businesses are ready tonight as Pilot Butte hosts its annual Fourth of July fireworks show.
Sure Shot Fireworks, with support from Subaru of Bend and TS&S Ford, will light nearly 1,000 shells at 10 p.m. while fire safety teams monitor the area (no spectators allowed on the Butte).
Registration is open for the Women's 5K Trail Tour, a running group for women that explores a new trail every week from July to early August in Central Oregon + prices start at $60.
Trailhead Lodge has opened along Southwest Century Drive offering 70 rooms and a public cafe and bar — a venue for summer events such as free concerts and fitness classes for Bend locals.
Discovery West kicked off Fourth of July weekend Friday with its Stars and Stripes celebration.
The free, family-friendly event featured music, games and a drone show with 100 drones lighting the sky in honor of America’s 250th birthday (a milestone celebration).
A Bend substitute teacher used a passion for stickers to fund art education by setting up a $1 sticker machine featuring art from High Desert Middle School students that raised over $200 this past month and moved to the Open Arts Center on NE 2nd Street + Greenwood Avenue.
Little Kits childcare at OSU-Cascades closed on Thursday (due to financial challenges), eliminating about 70 spots and leaving families scrambling for childcare in Bend.
