CULTURE NEWS

  • 4 Peaks Live at the Tower will bring a three-night summer solstice celebration at Tower Theatre in Bend beginning Friday, June 20, featuring shows from Toubab Krewe, The Rumble, and Leftover Salmon. A kick-off party is set for Thursday, June 19 at Volcanic Theatre Pub—tickets are available as a three-day pass for $180 or individually at lower prices.  Bend Bulletin

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Commute Options in partnership with the City of Bend and funded by the Pacific Power Foundation will launch the E-Bike Rebate Program next Monday, offering eligible residents an $1,800 rebate for electric bikes purchased from BendR Cyclery/Ride2You or Bend Electric Bikes. Applicants must be Pacific Power customers in Bend, at least 18 with incomes at or below 80% of the area median and complete an e-bike safety course, with rebate winners chosen by lottery every three weeks until all 70 rebates are awarded — supporting local businesses and sustainable transportation.  KTVZ
  • Bend Police said they use established procedures to manage local protests after questions arose as protests over immigration enforcement occurred elsewhere—Chief Mike Krantz explained the department follows a consistent approach to ensure public safety.  KBND
  • Bend reopened Northeast Second Street between Franklin and Greenwood avenues yesterday as part of its Core Area revitalization project designed to make the street safer and more inviting for local business; the city will hold a project completion celebration next Tuesday, June 24 at 4:15 p.m. at Dogwood at the Pine Shed—where elected officials will speak and the community can learn about upcoming investments.  KTVZ
  • On Tuesday, lawmakers discussed House Bill 2025 to increase oversight of the transportation department—calling for quarterly reports and a review panel to monitor project progress and funding. Testimony from union members, contractors and others stressed delays, budget deficits and job impacts while Gov.
