- ➤ Burgerville will open its new Bend restaurant on June 23 at 612 SE Third St. with a ribbon cutting and a Bend exclusive menu featuring local favorites like Walla Walla sweet onion rings + marionberries as one of three new Oregon locations for the chain. Bend Bulletin
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Officers responded on June 8, 2025 near the 3300 block of SW Glacier Avenue where they found a deceased adult female and arrested a 42-year-old daughter—whose identity is withheld—for Murder II and Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and police said the incident is isolated with no threat to the community. - ➤ A fight after midnight on Sunday in downtown Bend left two men with cuts on their hands and officers arrested Delmer Whitefoot—24—and Lyndreth LeClaire—27—for aggravated assault and unlawful use of a weapon; one 30-year-old man was taken to St. Charles Bend and a 23-year-old was treated at the scene. - ➤ Two Warm Springs men were arrested early Sunday after a knife fight in downtown Bend injured two Redmond men when officers arrived at 12:12 a.m.—police say one suspect was caught near Northwest Bond Street and Northwest Oregon Avenue and that three knives were recovered. KTVZ

- ➤ Elk Meadow Elementary School in Bend will have Kit Galloway as its new principal next school year starting July 1—she replaces Ben Johnston, who resigned to relocate. KTVZ
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Bend Animal Emergency and Specialty Center in Bend is now open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week — a change from its previous schedule of 24-hour care from Friday through Monday and limited overnight hours — so pets can receive emergency treatment any time from experienced veterinarians at its SE 3rd Street and Division Street location. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Bend’s Campbell McKean (18) won two races at the USA Swimming Nationals in Indianapolis on June 5, breaking the one-minute barrier in the 50-meter breaststroke with a time of 26.9 seconds while edging Olympian Michael Andrew. The following day he set a national record in the 100-meter breaststroke and will join Team USA at the World Championships in Singapore beginning July 26 while planning to enroll in the University of Texas swimming program this fall.
