CRIME NEWS

  • Bend police arrested a 36-year-old resident on Friday after he allegedly threatened a mass shooting along NE Waller Avenue. Officers stopped him in his driveway as he left his home armed with an AR-15 style rifle, ballistic vest, and duffel bag — no injuries were reported.  KBND

  • A new AAA survey shows that only 16% of Americans plan to buy an electric vehicle next—a decrease from 18% last year—while Oregon remains among the top states with over 100,000 EVs registered.  Central Oregon Daily

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • On Tuesday, the Deschutes National Forest conducted prescribed burns in the Crescent and Sisters ranger districts to lower wildfire risk—burning up to 42 acres near Crescent and 91 acres near Sisters. Residents were advised to close doors and windows as smoke settled overnight and in the early morning.  KTVZ
