- ➤ Cascades East Transit is hosting Try Transit Week with free bus rides during commute hours and pop-up events with ice cream, games, and raffles for free passes across Bend and Redmond today and through early next week. Riders join using the CET GO app at designated stops. Central Oregon Daily
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Sunriver Music Festival returns Aug. 10-20 at the Sunriver Resort Great Hall and downtown Bend's Tower Theatre — presenting four classical concerts, a pops concert, and a free family concert. Tickets include free entry for kids 17 and under with any regular purchase. Central Oregon Daily
- ➤ Hayden Homes Amphitheater is set to host a busy June series with concerts, comedy events and a 25th anniversary dance party — featuring artists like Bonnie Raitt, Jim Gaffigan and Metric, with tickets available online. Central Oregon Daily
- ➤ Tower Theatre announced Act 1 of its 2026-27 season with a lineup of musical acts starting in late July through January at NW Wall St. The historic venue will host shows from Americana to holiday themes and will reveal Act 2 in October. Bend Bulletin

- ➤ Residents in La Pine, Redmond and Sisters can drop off yard debris for free starting June 5 as part of the FireFree event through June 13. La Pine and Redmond stations will be open daily except Sundays while Sisters accepts debris (June 5, 6 and 10 through 13). Bend Bulletin
- ➤ Deschutes County Water Master Jeremy Giffin explained Central Oregon's water conditions after recent rain and late-season snow — he noted that current moisture may only partly relieve strained levels as summer and fall bring continued uncertainty. KTVZ
- ➤ A new wildfire ignited Monday afternoon 5 miles southwest of Lake Billy Chinook and interagency crews used engines, aircraft, and a dozer to control the 2-acre blaze. Central Oregon Daily

- ➤ WorkSource Oregon launched a new mobile van service last week to bring career coaching + computers + internet access to rural areas in need of job search help. The vans, which serve places like Christmas Valley, operate two days each month and offer priority access for veterans. Central Oregon Daily
