- ➤ Boat and kayak users can enjoy the new docks on Paulina and Cultus lakes, built as part of a $193,000 Bend Sustainability Fund project. - ➤ Several residential fires in Bend and Tumalo this month have damaged homes and displaced families. Fire crews and the American Red Cross advise residents to follow safety precautions — avoid fire risks and secure property as wildfire season advances. KTVZ
- ➤ On Sunday shortly after 2:30 p.m., a Tumalo home caught fire and neighbors used garden hoses to slow flames from spreading into nearby brush and trees while Bend Fire and Rescue later contained the blaze that caused an estimated $575,000 in damage. Central Oregon Daily

- ➤ Due to the Iran war, Oregonians will face an estimated $1,080 increase in energy costs this year, mostly from higher gas prices. Energy analyst Wayne Winegarden said families may drive less and use less air conditioning to save money. The Oregonian
