- ➤ A brush fire broke out along Tumalo Road today, likely sparked by hot debris from a passing vehicle, and Bend and Redmond Fire Departments quickly contained it before it spread to homes although several fences were damaged. KTVZ

- ➤ Portland Cello Project will perform at Tower Theatre on Friday, May 8, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and the show beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $32-$52. Bend Bulletin

- ➤ Summit High’s robotics team Chaos Theory reached the semifinals at the FIRST World Championship+ in Houston last weekend and won the Industrial Design Award. The team will prepare for a new season starting in January. Central Oregon Daily
