  • Bend’s Street Dog Hero donated 500 lbs of dog food this week to help pets in families facing hardship — the group also delivered an extra 250 lbs to the Humane Society of the Ochocos and will hold monthly dog food banks on May 5 and May 15 for those in need.  KTVZ

CRIME NEWS

  • A Bend man was arrested Saturday night after he drove a truck through the security gate at the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office and crashed into a wall—Oregon State Police charged him with reckless driving, criminal mischief and a parole violation, with damage estimated at $80,000.  Bend Bulletin
