- ➤ On April 9th, nearly 20 staff in the production kitchen at Bend High prepared meals from scratch using local ingredients to feed students in Bend, La Pine and Sunriver. Trucks loaded ingredients and pre-cooked food an hour early, and the kitchen—set to expand with the Bend High renovation—continues to offer fresh menus including white bean pork chili and al pastor tacos. - ➤ The Humane Society of Central Oregon hosted its 3rd annual Kitten Shower on Saturday to help care for nearly 300 newborn and orphaned kittens this season, offering activities, a raffle plus information on its foster program.
