CRIME NEWS

  • Police arrested a 65-year-old Bend woman early Sunday after she allegedly set her manufactured home on fire on 19900 Waterfall Lane in Romaine Village—killing two cats while a resident called for help and a dog was found outside.  KTVZ

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices in Oregon rose 21 cents per gallon over the past week to an average of $3.94 on Monday based on a survey of 1,307 stations—an analyst said falling oil prices may soon reverse the trend.  KTVZ

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Oregon Department of Forestry’s 39 firefighters have begun demobilizing after assisting with the Black Cove Complex wildfire in North Carolina as it is turned over to a local fire district. Twenty-six flew home over the weekend, eight flew home on Monday, and one is flying home today—while four staff remain to help close the fire.  KTVZ
  • The NE Bend roundabout project at Deschutes Market Road and Yeoman Road is delayed until Monday, April 14 — drivers must detour along Butler Market Road and Hamehook Road which adds a few minutes to commutes — as the developer of Petrosa works to extend Yeoman Road for a smoother intersection.  Central Oregon Daily
  • TSA and DMV officials announced that starting May 7 air travelers 18 and older will need a REAL ID-compliant license or acceptable ID at airport security. Oregonians are advised to plan ahead since processing a new REAL ID can take up to three weeks.  KTVZ
