- ➤ A fire early Sunday morning destroyed a home, two sheds, and a wooden fence on the 2000 block of SW 30th St in Redmond after embers from a recreational fire spread—and firefighters quickly contained the blaze with no injuries reported. Central Oregon Daily
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ During the 2024-25 fishing season, 961 adult steelhead returned to the Upper Deschutes River as strong ocean conditions and local restoration efforts helped them complete a 300-mile journey upstream of the Pelton Round Butte Dam Complex — most fish were from hatcheries and pilot studies, marking the highest run since the 1960s.
