- ➤ Hundreds attended the reopening of Petersen Rock Garden Museum in Redmond on Saturday — the event featured a ribbon-cutting, a new Glow Room, a silent auction, and a raffle that honored its restoration and community memories. - ➤ Volunteers from Redmond Rotary assembled nearly 600 personalized book backpacks as part of its Gift of Literacy program on Saturday morning — each backpack with a chosen book will be delivered next week to first grade classrooms. Central Oregon Daily

After screening at over 20 festivals in the last year, filmmaker Greg Balkin is bringing the award-winning short documentary, The Life We Have, to Bend. In honor of the film's subject, Rob Shaver, Greg is hosting a fundraiser event for The American Cancer Society that includes a film screening, community run, and raffle.
