- ➤ Mountain View Roadhouse has opened at the former Phoenix restaurant location in northeast Bend (as heavy snow and 45 mph gusts advise residents to delay travel until 5:00 p.m. today). Central Oregon Daily

- ➤ Sprouts Montessori in Bend received a $719,200 state grant to open The Orchard Infant Nest (a Spanish immersion child care center for infants and toddlers) later this spring at 502 NE Revere Ave; the center will serve 24 children from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Central Oregon Daily

- ➤ Tumalo Reservoir offers a glimpse into Central Oregon’s past as visitors can view a 1914 stone-arched bridge and bullet-marked wheelhouse near Bull Creek Dam. They should use designated pull-outs along Sisemore Road (construction detours may apply) and respect the boundaries set by the Tumalo Irrigation District. Bend Bulletin
- ➤ Local conservation groups are hosting a public meeting on roadless protections Monday, Apr. 6 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Ray Hall (1500 SW Chandler Ave) at OSU-Cascades to discuss strategies for protecting 200,000 acres of wild public lands and critical water sources. Bend Bulletin
- ➤ Deschutes County offers free yard debris drop-offs to help residents remove hazardous fuels ahead of wildfire season. Events are held in Bend (May 15-24, 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m.), Sunriver (May 1-2, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.), La Pine and Redmond (June 5-13) and Sisters (June 10-13). Bend Bulletin

- ➤ Redmond Municipal Airport crews finished the new terminal's foundation and began craning its steel frame as construction moves ahead — setting the stage for improved boarding and amenities in a project designed to ease overcrowding — with the terminal set to open early November. Bend Bulletin
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Mt. Bachelor received almost one foot of fresh snow this morning after a stormy night; ski patrol deployed explosives at 6:30 a.m. to clear softer snow + the resort opened to guests at 9 a.m. Officials advise caution as the season's snowpack remains below average. Source Weekly
- ➤ The high school track season is underway in Central Oregon as twenty standout girls athletes are highlighted for strong performances at district and state championships in late May— the list features top jumpers, sprinters and distance runners who earned honors last year. Bend Bulletin
