- ➤ Shepherd's House Ministries received a $3 million award to expand Abi's House, raising capacity from 10 to 40 for at-risk women and children in Central Oregon. The ministry will acquire multiple residences (locations confidential) for 24-hour support and trauma-informed care, with the expansion expected to complete within a year. KTVZ
- ➤ The fifth annual Central Oregon Ag Show began Friday at the Deschutes County Fair & Expo Center in Redmond and is free to attend until 3 p.m. today; visitors fed alpacas and watched antique engine and tractor demos by local exhibitors. Bend Bulletin
- ➤ Crews are renovating Pine Nursery Park in northeast Bend by installing turf filtration near baseball fields and building new pickleball courts, a basketball court, and dog park improvements (completion is expected this fall). Central Oregon Daily

- ➤ Sprouts Montessori of Bend has received a $719,200 grant from Business Oregon’s Child Care Infrastructure Fund to acquire a property at 502 NE Revere Ave for a new licensed Spanish immersion facility, The Orchard Infant Nest, set to serve 24 children with flexible hours & open later this spring. - ➤ DSWCD and OSU have launched a water management course starting Thursday, April 9 through June 18. Local producers, landowners + irrigation managers can register for $90 to learn essential irrigation and water management skills. Central Oregon Daily

- ➤ Central Oregon LandWatch will host the ‘Public Lands, Public Voices’ forum on April 6 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at OSU-Cascades’ Edward J. Ray Hall Atrium — a meeting to oppose the proposed rollback of federal roadless protections. Bend Bulletin
- ➤ By mid-March, Baker, Deschutes, Umatilla, Jefferson and Wallowa counties declared drought ahead of spring as record-low snowpack and a warm winter set the stage for reduced water supplies, and experts warn that irrigation and streamflow will likely be affected this season. Bend Bulletin

- ➤ Deschutes County and local agencies will update roads from March 29 to April 4 with concrete and asphalt on routes including Tumalo Reservoir Rd, Bear Creek Road and NW Pershall Way.
