- ➤ Police arrested a 26-year-old Bend man wanted on a felony warrant after he stole an SUV from the Riverhouse Lodge and led officers on a wild drive—reaching 90-100 mph across a golf course and near Caldera High School before a spike strip flattened his tires and pinned his vehicle in a cul-de-sac. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A state study by the Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission and the Department of Agriculture found hemp products in Oregon registered THC levels above the legal 0.3% limit, with some items testing as high as 30%—retailers rarely checked buyers' ages. The findings warn consumers that hemp products marketed as non-intoxicating may be more potent than their labels suggest. The Oregonian
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ La Pine Community Health Center announced its Wellness Center expansion is delayed to early fall due to funding and supply chain challenges—officials said it was originally set to open early this year. The facility, which will add dental, imaging and mental health services, still needs more community support to secure the remaining funds—officials added that efforts are underway to address the shortfall.
