ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A 50-year-old Bend man died Thursday in an avalanche while skiing on Mount Bailey near Diamond Lake — his guided cat-skiing group encountered the slide around 3:45 p.m. in a motorized closure area and, with on-scene nurses, attempted lifesaving efforts as he did not survive.  The Oregonian

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Sunday, about 200 people attended a town hall at Oregon State University-Cascades where lawmakers Emerson Levy, Jason Kropf and Senator Broadman answered questions about federal decisions on healthcare and education. They stressed that Medicaid remains unchanged today—while the state plans for new wildfire funding and educational improvements amid possible federal budget cuts.  Source Weekly
