Antioch Church hosted a Guns to Gardens event on March 15, where community members safely disposed of unwanted firearms by turning them into garden tools — a method that helped reduce gun violence and accidents.

The event provided gift cards as a token of appreciation and has decommissioned over 100 guns, with another event scheduled for the fall — allowing more safe disposals in Bend.

Experts at the Oregon Health Authority said the COVID-19 vaccines for this season use the same formula as last fall, and a new formula is expected next fall (2025-2026).

They also advised that people needing an MMR booster check their past vaccination records to decide if an additional dose is needed.
