- ➤ Central Oregon Locavore plans a second shop in northwest Bend — at Discovery West. The nonprofit aims to boost local food access for residents and small farmers by opening the pilot location during this year’s growing season, and its capital campaign will gain a boost at the gala on April 24. - ➤ Terranaut Beer, a northeast Bend brewery less than two years old, was named one of USA Today’s 10Best “Best New Breweries,” the only Pacific Northwest taproom on the list — it also earned a silver medal at Great American Beer Festival for its coffee and vanilla brown ale. KTVZ
- ➤ Les Schwab Tire Centers has named Tom Nolan as its new CEO—the first outsider to lead the Bend-based firm—and he will begin his role on April 7, replacing current CEO Mike Broberg during the transition. Central Oregon Daily
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Oregon State Legislature has approved $42M in state-backed bonds to build a 40,000 sqft student health and recreation center (OSU-Cascades’ first comprehensive on-campus wellness and clinical service facility) in Bend. Construction will begin in 2028 after land remediation, expanding resources for student success. KTVZ

- ➤ Deschutes County Sheriff's Office Search & Rescue teams carried out a training mission over the weekend from Edison Sno-Park to practice searching for six hikers reported overdue on a day hike near a shelter. The exercise helped sharpen skills for true emergencies. KTVZ
- ➤ A new report will be released Wednesday rating Oregon's online gambling protections as 43 out of 100; the nonprofit CASPR warns that active promotion of betting and absence of self-exclusion measures risk harm — Gov. Kotek’s office has received the report and may respond soon. Source Weekly

- ➤ Sisters Habitat for Humanity has finished its decade-long Village Meadows project with 21 affordable homes, and the nonprofit will dedicate the final two homes on March 20 — then it will start work on Larch Commons, a 25-unit project. Central Oregon Daily
