- ➤ Central Oregon Submarine Veterans christened the S.S. Redside model submarine at Riverbend Park Saturday. Built in October and debuted at last year's Veterans Day Parade, the 637-size model honored Navy traditions and supports plans for an Oregon submarine veterans memorial. Central Oregon Daily

- ➤ Performers brought vibrant drag, burlesque, and live singing to Winter PrideFest at Campfire Hotel Saturday. A second Diva Drag Brunch will run today from noon to 2 p.m. — an event that adds to a weekend of parties, performances, and skiing. Central Oregon Daily
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Nelson girls basketball earned their first state tournament berth Saturday night at the Chiles Center by overcoming a nine-point deficit to beat Southridge 60-55 — junior Nylah Webster’s three-pointer sparked the comeback, and the team will face a quarterfinal opponent on Thursday. - ➤ Redmond girls basketball broke three scoring records and secured a state tournament trip with a 102-16 win over North Eugene on March 7. Crook County advanced to the 5A state tournament by defeating La Salle 61-46 in Prineville, with their quarterfinal scheduled for Thursday at 8:15 p.m. at Linfield. Bend Bulletin
- ➤ Bend High and Summit skiers competed at the Oregon Alpine Ski Racing State Championships at Mt. Hood Meadows on Thursday and Friday.
