CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The High Desert Museum launches its 250 in the West program this spring to explore the region's legacy with historian-led events, including Flannery Burke's presentation on March 12 at 6:30 p.m., and talks on land use and citizenship on April 15 and 30, with tickets starting at $8 with member discounts. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ County commissioners reviewed a revised application for Lava Terrace Cellars on Bowery Lane north of Bend, with plans to lower production from 2,000 to 1,500 cases and update zoning and wastewater management. Public testimony closed last week — final deliberations will happen later. KTVZ
- ➤ One lane of Division St (north Bend) remains closed until late March or early April as crews begin an $11 million fish screen replacement for the North Unit Irrigation District; concrete placement is scheduled this week and the lane should reopen before irrigation season starts. Bend Bulletin
- ➤ CSL Consulting presented a study on building a 2,000-seat multi-use venue to the Bend Economic Development Advisory Board Monday, March 2. The study, which compared 20 similar cities (only Bend and San Luis Obispo lack a dedicated event space), will be updated for City Council review on April 22. Source Weekly

- ➤ Jennifer Burnett of Redmond is using Ozempic as a last resort for weight loss and lost 15 pounds in one month; Bend doctor Kevin Jones said GLP-1 medications help curb food cravings (with risks like gallstones and stomach problems) while Burnett stresses the drug is for health, not looks.
