Bend residents gathered at Peace Corner on Saturday for a rally honoring Ukraine's resilience on the fourth anniversary of the war.
City Councilor Mike Riley read the proclamation that recognized the local Ukrainian community’s contributions.

Red and white dresses flowed along the Deschutes River at Farewell Bend Park on Saturday, Feb.
21 in the art installation REDdress + WHITEdress: Threads of Silenced Nations honoring Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and displaced Ukrainian families (founder Mila Shelehoff invited residents to show solidarity).
🏈 Sports
Bend High girls captured their eighth 5A state swim title yesterday at the Tualatin Hills Aquatic Center, winning nine events and breaking records with senior Maddie Thornton earning four golds.
IMC teams also delivered strong relay + individual performances at the meet.
Summit won boys and girls state Nordic skiing titles at the Mt. Bachelor Nordic Center (on Friday and Saturday during the Oregon Interscholastic Ski Racing Association championships).
The team led combined scores with several skiers finishing in the top 10.
