BUSINESS NEWS

  • Local customers reported that Prolectric took thousands of dollars in deposits for solar panel installations but closed down before finishing the work—leaving some with unresolved liens and financial losses. The company shut its doors abruptly last year amid ongoing payment issues and incomplete contracts.  The Oregonian

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • ODOT warns that fake texts claim fines and unpaid tolls and advises not to click their links. The department says texts from ODOT only confirm appointments or account info (never payment requests) and urges residents to contact their bank if needed.  Central Oregon Daily

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Developers said the Joule project at 4th and Olney will shrink from six to three stories, eliminating 50 units and a ground-floor parking structure due to high costs and interest rates. Construction will start in 2027 and the project will keep affordable housing for workers.  Bend Bulletin
