- ➤ The Hudson restaurant — a live-fire chophouse led by Chef George Morris — will soon open at 900 NW Wall St. in downtown Bend; the grand opening date will be announced in the coming weeks. Bend Bulletin

- ➤ Some local arts groups in Bend have received $5,000 each from the Arts Build Communities grants. The High Desert Museum was honored for its intergenerational learning film project while the Central Oregon Symphony Association will use its funds to support underserved K-12 students in Madras, Prineville — LaPine. - ➤ Gov. Tina Kotek launched the new Oregon Prosperity Council with Tim Knopp as Chief Prosperity Officer on Thursday at the World Trade Center Portland to advise on business growth. The 16-member group will meet in Bend in February. Central Oregon Daily
- ➤ Deschutes County will begin accepting applications for its 2026 Sweat Equity Bin Rental Program to help neighborhoods reduce wildfire risk by covering trash bin rental costs — applications will run Feb. 1 through Feb. 28 and awardees will be notified in early April. Central Oregon Daily
- ➤ Deschutes County Natural Resources is accepting applications for its 2026 Sweat Equity Bin Rental Program starting Sunday, Feb. 1, which will cover trash bin rentals to help roughly 25 local communities reduce wildfire risks. Eligible groups must work collectively and apply by Feb. 28, and selected projects will receive county-managed rental contracts + assistance in early April. County of Deschutes

- ➤ The Oregon State Fire Marshal, joining national partners, has declared January as Firefighter Cancer Awareness Month to share resources and best practices for reducing cancer risks among firefighters.
