  • Community members in central Oregon raised funds for 14-month-old Braxton Twyman, who needs a heart transplant, at General Duffy’s Waterhole on Sunday. The fundraiser (including a raffle, car show and poker bike run) saw local businesses add $1 per item sold to support him.  Central Oregon Daily

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Oregon lawmakers are proposing new rules for AI chatbots to protect children’s mental health, as the bill would require companies to monitor chats for self-harm signals and ban explicit content for minors (annual safety reports would be submitted to the state health agency).  The Oregonian

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Oregon Ducks added former UNC defensive lineman D’Antre Robinson (6-4, 315 pounds), who committed on Sunday night, and defensive tackle Jerome Simmons from Louisiana-Monroe via transfer to rebuild their defensive line after losing key players.  The Oregonian
  • Alex Weiermair was named Winterhawks Player of the Week after earning 2 goals and 3 assists in 3 games from Jan. 12 to Jan. 18. He extended his 4-game point streak and tied for 10th in league scoring at 55 points.  The Oregonian
